GoGirlsMusicFest 2000 A Huge Success!
2-15-01

GoGirlsMusic.com, the oldest online community of independent women artists, is proud to announce that its first annual GoGirlsMusicFest was highly successful in raising money for charity while rocking the U.S. with great indie women in music. Madalyn Sklar, founder of GoGirlsMusic.com and producer of the event said, "We set out to support two things: women in music and charities. We totally exceeded our goals." What's in store for the upcoming GoGirlsMusicFest in the fall? "The GoGirlsMusicFest 2001 will even bigger and better! We are planning 20 shows across the U.S. with most being held at Hard Rock Cafes," says Sklar.

The GoGirlsMusicFest 2000 consisted of 11 shows across the U.S., three of them at Hard Rock Cafes. The events grossed over $18,500 with proceeds from each show benefiting local charities.

The last show was held at the Hard Rock Cafe in San Diego, CA, on Febuary 2, 2001, and is being hailed as having the largest attendance of all 11 shows.

Some of the GoGirlsMusicFest performers were:
Jenny Bruce, Amanda's Waiting, Regan, Susan Greenbaum, Iridesense, Swamp Mama Johnson, The Tiffany Shea Band, Lauren Adams, Stephanie Schneiderman, Elizabeth White, Blush, Sean Wiggins, The Heavy Woolies, Laura Preble Band and Lisa Sanders Band.

Shows benefited the following charities:
P.E.T.A, Safe Horizon, "The Daily Planet" Homeless Outreach Center, The Equinox Domestic Violence Programs, Northwest Harvest Food Bank, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Women in Distress, All Women's Health Services, AIDS Services of Austin, Lesbian and Gay Rights Lobbyist of Texas, Visions, The AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation and El Nido Program for Victims of Domestic Violence.

The GoGirlsMusicFest 2000 was sponsored by GoGirlsMusic.com, VAMusic411.com, CDStreet.com and USGIGTV.NET.
