The Red Thread Movement is an initiative that unites voices against the human rights violation of sex trafficking. The signature Red Thread bracelet, which is handmade by an at-risk or rescued girl in Nepal, is a symbol of awareness that helps fund the continuous efforts to rehabilitate victims and eliminate trafficking. Red Thread Music recruits an array of talented musicians to use their voices to get audiences involved in the fight. It encourages people to break the silence by telling others about this injustice and wear freedom to show that they choose to take a stand against sexual slavery. We wear their freedom on our arms!

In 2000, GoGirls founder Madalyn Sklar, along with a handful of volunteers, created the GoGirlsMusicFest - a series of annual benefit showcase events held across the world. The festival promotes independent women in music while supporting various charities which have included MusiCares, Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls, American Liver Foundation, The Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research, UNOS and so many more. Since 2000 there has been over 150 all volunteer-run Fest shows!
